Are you as stumped by this as we are??Hello again,
This past weekend have had quite a time. We decided to take our second annual gander to the mountains of North Carolina and they were gorgeous. Last year our adventures took us to the Blue Ridge Parkway. This year we focused on a variety of incredible waterfalls. We visited a total of seven and below is a collections of what we did and saw.
Our first three waterfalls were amazing and quite easy access. However, our fourth, courthouse falls, was a bit more rugged. The directions said it was .3 miles from a dirt road. We walked down the trail and heard the waterfall but there were no signs as to the indication of the where the waterfall was. We heard the rushing water but thought that it was just the stream. We walked well over the .3 miles as indicated by the map. By this time a trusting pair was following us, the leader, we both resigned to having missed the falls and headed back nearly half a mile. A trail appear leading down. Paul walked a little bit and encountered a woman and he enquired about a waterfall. She said this was the spot!!! It was gorgeous and worth the extra little bit of walking.
On Sunday our excursion to waterfall required more walking than the previous day including getting lost. The pregnant woman was very good being more willing than her husband to keep going to see the beautiful creations. We walked up steep inclines of both a 1000 feet and 900 feet. These falls were amazing as well. In total on Sunday we walked about 5 miles but we did and are doing great. We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the views.
